"SHANGHAI 29 SEP 01" in combination with french officesvia Hong Kong Oct 2, Haiphong Oct 7, Hanoi Oct 8, "HOKOW 15 OCT 01" to "MENGTSZ 23 OCT 01". This inner-chinese official mail to Yunnan was routed via French Indochina (a foreign route), hence foreign postage was due. To District p. o. Mengtsz, on reverse information of routing to another remote chinese place then faster accessible via foreign: "Teng Yüeh (Momein, Yünnan) Customs: Staff Address c/o Brit. P.O. Bhano, Upper Burma (via Rangoon)". A most interesting document.
